2012 SCHOLARSHIPS
Community Action, Inc. provides annual
scholarship opportunities to adults and graduating high school seniors seeking
financial assistance to support college, vocational-technical, or trade-school
education ventures. The deadline for submitting applications for 2012
scholarships is February 29, 2012.
Scholarships are available to Traditional and Non-Traditional
students. A traditional
student is defined as a student who is a graduating high-school senior or a
home-schooled student who has successfully completed required Kansas Department
of Education coursework and received a GED. A Non-Traditional student is defined
as a student who has been out of high school for a period of 12 months or longer
and has a high school diploma or a GED. Links to Traditional and

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a financial need and reside in
Clay, Dickinson, Geary, McPherson, Ottawa, Saline, Shawnee or Wabaunsee counties
of Kansas. Scholarship funds may be used for expenses such as tuition, books,
child care, and tools.
The agency’s Board of Directors is
responsible for determining the number of scholarships that will be awarded each
year. Up to two $1,000 scholarships are available for 2012.
