Back to School Fairs

are annual public events held in several communities within the Agency's service area. Family focused exhibitors provide fun activities and information for school-aged children and their families. Starter sets of grade-appropriate school supplies are given to families that meet income-eligibility requirements and pre-register for the supplies.

This year's Topeka Back-to-School Fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. - noon, Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Kansas Expocentre.

The Back-to-School Fair provides free backpacks and grade appropriate basic school supplies for children aged kindergarten through grade 12. Also, exhibitors representing community-based health and social services agencies will be present.

Eligibility for free school supplies is set at or below 125% of program income guidelines .  A photo ID of the applicant, proof of household income and the social security numbers or ITIN numbers of all household members are required to register. Registration locations and times will be announced through the media and on this website.
