Latino Family Development

Community Action, Inc. has developed and implemented the Latino Family Development Program as an educational and support program oriented toward adults and family within the new Latino Immigrant population.

The program includes instruction in Basic English for purposes of work and conversation, and also includes instruction to facilitate the acculturation process to the American society as well as the support services provided by Community Action.

The immigrant family is considered the vital critical nucleus where the difficulties and problems arise around school, change in family structure, gap between teens and parents, and the solutions must be found and implemented.

The program has the goal of creating a mature understanding and acceptance of the socio-cultural differences and accelerate a healthy Social integration.
