families and communities to overcome poverty through education,
advocacy, prevention and services to meet basic human
needs. We offer hope and assistance with respect and
understanding
Weatherization services provide energy savings for
your home. These are some of the services we provide:
Adding
insulation to your attic and/or walls
Testing,
cleaning, and tuning your furnace
Repairing
or replacing your furnace
Sealing
cracks around windows or doors
Minor
roof repair
Of course, not all of these measures are
appropriate for every house. Because of limited funding , we focus
on measures that will help each home the most. Our goal is to make
you more comfortable in winter, while helping you lower your heating
bills.
Are You
Eligible for Weatherization?
To be eligible, you must live in Shawnee County and
meet the income guidelines. If someone in your house qualifies for
SSI or TANF, you are automatically eligible.
Both homeowners and renters may be eligible.
Once a weatherization application is complete and
eligibility is determined, services are provided on a first come first
served basis, with priority given to
homes
occupied by individuals who are elderly,
homes
occupied by individuals who are disabled, and
homes
occupied by children under 18 years of age.
